Botanica Spirits & Food Festival Canberra

Each ticket includes:

  • Entry to the Eucalypt Lawn at The Australian National Botanic Gardens for your select session.
  • Complimentary tastings at the onsite distillers. One tasting session at each distiller. Tastings include samples of the distillers gin or spirits they craft.
  • Three to four hours of immersive event time at Botanica Festival (Saturday – 3 hours, Sunday – 4 hours).
  • An exclusive Botanica tote bag with a special tasting glass (PET) for you to use and keep.
  • Access to talks, demonstrations and masterclasses on the live stage.
  • Access to the Botanic Bar, Food Trucks & Craft Vendors.

Botanica is an 18+ event. Underaged persons cannot attend Botanica.

You are invited to explore a range of premium Australian Distillers and their expertly crafted products. Learn about their process, beverages, and brand face-to-face as your sample their product. There is the opportunity to purchase take-away bottles right there!

We encourage responsible service of alcohol with a no tolerance policy. The event runs for 3 hours on Saturday & 4 hours on Sunday offering you plenty of time to take a break between each distiller, grab some food, and drink plenty of water.

Service of alcohol will finish 15 minutes before the end of the event.

Botanica will have a range of local food trucks serving up your favourites feasts for you to enjoy at the festival. There are table and chairs for you to take a break, relax and soak up the immersive atmosphere during your time at Botanica.

There is also a range of stalls featuring native ingredients and goods to enjoy in-between any spirit tastings.

Please note the Bar does not do tastings, full serves of drinks are available to purchase from here.

As the day drifts away, settle back at the Live Stage and enjoy a talk, demonstration or masterclass from our line up of distillers, bartenders and industry professionals.

Getting There

The Australian National Botanic Gardens is a natural outdoor event site with various terrains. The carpark is an approx. 10-min walk to the event lawn for an able bodied person on an undulating, sealed footpath.

Limited accessible parking is available and access for people with limited mobility is possible to some areas of the gardens.  We also have:

  • Mobility shuttle available to/from the site from the carpark if/when required. 
  • Wheelchair accessible toilet at the event site.

If you have any accessibility concerns, we encourage you to contact us.

The Botanic Gardens has paid parking available during the day. This carpark is shared with other Botanic Gardens guests and is likely to become full during the event. We suggest finding other transport to get to The Australian National Botanic Gardens for this event. Due to the nature of the event and we do not encourage driving.

There is currently no direct public transport.

We have charted a select number of buses for the event from Canberra City.

The bus to Botanica departs from CANBERRA CITY INTERCHANGE at BUS STOP 3002 outside of MOOSEHEADS. This is on the corner of London Cct & East Row. It will drop you off at the carpark drop-off zone at the Australian National Botanic Gardens. The bus ride is approximately 15 minutes.

Tickets for this bus can be purchased when you buy your tickets. Buses will leave 30 minutes before the session start time on Saturday & Sunday.

A return bus will also run 20 minutes after each session finishes.

Buses will leave strictly on the designated time. Refunds will not be given if you miss the bus.

A drop-off point at the Botanic Gardens will be available on the event days. This can be used for Uber / Taxi / Family drop offs.

Please follow all signage and traffic controller directions on the day.

FAQS

As Botanica is an event that has many vendors selling alcohol all attendees must be 18 years or older and must have a ticket to attend this event. ID’s will be checked upon entry. Unfortunately this also means no infants / babies. 

YES! Each vendor will be selling a range of full-sized gin/spirits bottles & products for you to purchase. 

All takeaway sales must remain sealed until you leave the event. A no tolerance policy is in place for anyone that breaks the rules.

Just don’t forget to collect your goodies on the way out!

There will be a variety of food trucks, vans and vendors to purchase food from throughout the festival, as well as some tastings and samples from a couple stall holders.

Most dietary requirements will be catered for and full list of food vendors will be published closer to event day.

Non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase during the festival. Free water will also be available at the event.

If you want to sit down and enjoy a beverage with your friends, we also have a pop-up Fever-Tree bar onsite for you to purchase a relaxing drink with your food and entertainment.

Botanica is a Cashless event. Card is the preferred method All distillers and food vendors will accept EFTPOS payments. Some vendors may accept cash but this is not guaranteed.

You can purchase your tickets online through the Botanica website. We do not have an onsite box office and all tickets must be purchased before you arrive. Tickets are limited so we suggest purchasing early to avoid disappointment.

No worries at all. Sometimes our confirmation emails get lost in your junk inbox or a typo was made upon checkout.

Email us at hello@arclighteventco.com.au and we will resend them. Otherwise there is also a door list on the day that we can search your ticket from.

Yes. Simply show your tickets displayed on your phone at the gate. Just make sure you have them ready before you reach the gate to avoid unnecessary queues.

Refunds are available up until 30 days before the event. Ticket fees are non-refundable. Depending on availability you may also be able to exchange to the alternate date on sale. Bus tickets are non-refundable.

Refunds are only issued if the event is cancelled. If you can no longer attend, you may give or sell your ticket to another person. Tickets are fully transferable for the same session on the scheduled day.

No. Botanica is a fully licensed event. You will have access to free tastings and a bar to purchase full serves of drinks. 

Take home purchases can be made from the distillers, but must remain sealed.

There will be a variety of food options available at the event so you don’t need to worry about bringing your own food.

Bags will be checked on the way in so we suggest not risking bringing anything in.

Botanica is hosted in The Australian National Botanic Gardens which is an entire smoke and vape free event/venue.

Sadly no. As much as we love our furry friends, we have restrictions set by the National Botanic Gardens.

Guide dogs and registered support animals are accepted. We request that you contact us beforehand to confirm.

Botanica is an outdoor event and will continue in mild rain. There are large marquees set-up which you can still enjoy the distilleries under.

If the weather does become dangerous and we have to cancel the event, all ticket holders will be notified and refunds will be provided. No refunds will be given if you decide not to attend but the event still goes ahead.

If we cancel we will:

  • SMS the mobile number of the person who booked your ticket (hopefully they’ll share this with you, if it wasn’t you).
  • Email the person who booked your ticket with instructions and information about what to do next.
